Abilities: Strengths and Weaknesses
Holy symbols
Due to the damned nature of just being vampire, any common or popularly used holy symbol (including those considered to not be holy by others; pentagrams etc) are damaging to a vampire. Holy relics and symbols only work for those who truly believe in them. Anyone can go around wearing a cross. It wont help with shit if they don't believe in it. Items like the Star of David don't work because its a racial symbol, not a religious symbol (nothing intended), but the old testament, or Torah, will work. Holy, or blessed water will burn vampires like acid, but it will also burn the holder. Same for silver relics like crosses.
Stakes/removal of the head
Remove the head and heart of anything, cockroaches not included because they're icky, and they will die. Its just natural. Stakes will crush the heart, and remove it.
The sun/ Fire
A vampires arch nemesis. The sun is truly a vampires greatest weakness. Young bloods are instantly dusted if they come with in direct contact with sun light. It doesn't matter how old a vampire is, they can not come in direct contact with the sun. An extremely old vampire (5000 at least) can live in daytime, though they still will not risk direct sunlight. Year of wisdom tells them not to. Vampires are walking corpse, and will burn like zombies and ghouls and any other form of walking dead.
Hunger(blood-lust)
Vampires rely on feeding on blood from any living creature in order to survive. The first vampire to not feed was by Caligula. He became the first Dream walker. Although it is much easier to be taken by a dream walker, a vampire can choose the long and grueling path of fasting to become a dream walker. It's very difficult to make the change in this manner and it risks death. Dream walkers and vampires are cousin races and even use the same methods to blood or change a mortal into one of them. Due to this a vampire can blood a dream walker and vise versa. A vampire can live a week (at most) off of just one human host, but they would have to kill them to last that long.
Sight and sense
A vampire gains the ability to sense those within a close proximity of them, usually up to 15 feet. They also have increased sight, smell and even taste. This makes a new blood very easily distracted by the immense detail in everything.
Speed/strength
A vampires strength is very impressive and only increases with age. As a first blood a vampire is able to easily press a pickup truck. A vampire also gains the ability to move at a very quick rate, though most of it is a mind trick. The older a vampire gets, the better they get at their mind games.
Endurance
Vampires have a very good endurance and though they may not grow weary in a fight, they will become exhausted and need to feed and sleep after long periods after staying up through the day and the following night.
Flight
A vampire or dream walker does not actually have the ability to fly. It is a mind trick that mortals fall for. Vampires can't actually fly, just jump really high. The mind trick is difficult when in the air due to eye contact. An older vampire (500 or more), however, can levitate above the ground. An old vampire can concentrate his or her energy toward the ground, and with enough energy, it can lift them up.
Seduction/over all diplomacy
Do to the appearance of a vampire, others are naturally drawn to them, and are more suggestible when in their presence. This trait is thought to be the main driving force for people to want to become a vampire. The unnatural feel and look of a vampire is almost irresistible to those of the opposite sex, making it easy to find a willing host.
A vampire can sense the emotions of humans. They can 'taste' fear and lust, and often get off on that. Vampires tend to have different tastes in blood. IE; anger, lust, pain, fear... Each emotion releases a different chemical, and a vampire can sense those changes like they can sense the position and movement of the sun.
New Vampires/ Vampire servants
To become a vampire, a vampire must first feed off the living to just before the heart stops. If the heart stops while they're drinking, they're dead and will not come back as a vampire. The body will die on its own with the mark of a vampire, and in three nights, it will rise on its own. Many vampires are mistakenly buried before they could rise, causing many people to freak out when they see someone tear open the ground and walk out of it.
A vampire can have only one human servant, and a human servant can have only one master. It takes three nights to create a human servant, the last two marks can be made in the same night. To create a human servant, a vampire must first enter their mind with their spirit. This is seen by the human as an 'orb' of sorts, the color reflecting the nature of the vampire, and it literally enters their being, filling them with their essence. The second mark is, again, spiritual. The vampires energy enters the body of the human, making it easier to contact the human (always through dreams at this point). At this point, the human can increase the strength of the vampire by simply being in his or her presence. The third an forth mark can be made in the same night. The human allows the vampire to drink from them, though the vampire can not bite. The blood must come from a cut NOT made by the vampire. Then the human must drink from the vampire in the same fashion. The two are then bound to each other for eternity, sharing each others thoughts and emotions. When a vampire is hit, the servent feels the hit. When a vampire feeds, the human feels the filling feeling, and vice-versa.
