The heavy footsteps were loud enough when they were distant. They were almost unbearable when he was close. She impulsivly tucked her head closer to her body, making her take up less space on the chair. A soft moan eminated from ther throat.

Matt noticed that she kept curking tighter and tighter, making herself smaller in the chair at noises no matter how small. He sighed and moved towards the kitchen I thought that most people would not have this reaction to the incense he thought as he began to brew a pot of tea, puting some herbs in it to relieve the tensions and sound amplications she was getting.

Why am I still here, she thought to herself as she tried to stem her headach. She tried to pull her head up. It felt like lifting a load of bricks up hill. It hurt. So she kept her head burrowed into the safe darkness of her arms.

Matt finished steeping the tea, he poured a cup and took it out to the girl. "Here drink this it will help get rid of the migraine" he said to her. "It might also help you relax" he said almost in after thought.

Bighting the bullit, so to speak, Karin lifted her head and pushed herself up so she was at least sitting straight. She looked at the cup in his hand, multiple thoughts running through her head. It hurt, so she pushed them all aside and took the cup. Sniffing the contents of the cup, she wrinkled her nose a bit. She didn't like tea all that much, but it was better than coffie, and did it's job. Taking a test sip, she found it hot, but not scorching. Kudos for me.

Matt moved away as she drank, looking at her he sighed. "So Why were you ressurecting the dead?" he asked her. "I know it is not my business but I am curious".

She swallowed her mouth full of tea. "I was hoping to fing my mother," she confided quietly. "That man was attacked in the middle of the night, near a graveyard. I thought he could tell me who killed him, or at least what he looked like." She took another drink, the bitter taste trailing down her throat.

"Well, I can tell you one thing, I do not kill humans. I only kill people who bother me enough to get me angry and that only happens when someone is interupting my spells, or when I get involved in a fight." he said to her as he sighed. "But then again I have been to busy to sit down and look." he said.

"Why did it look at you like that?" Karin asked, refering to the zombi she raised earlier. Now that she thought about it, she never rose a zombi that looked so fearfull at another living being. They looked distan full, hatrid, or even remorse for those they left behind. Fear was an emotion the dead forget about. What do you have left to fear when you die? She couldn't understand it.

Matt sighed "I am the only powerful Necromancer left in the world, All the rest can wrest control over one or two, I currently control 50." He said to her, "All undead can see the power from different types of spellcasters, and mine is controling them." he said to her.

"Oh," Karin said, blinking at her tea. She took another drink of her tea. That awlays confused her. At times she could feel the dead, or at least those who are restless, but she never thought of them being able to feel her. Hell, she never thought of them being able to feel. It was just easier that way. But now her job felt really uncomfortable. She shook the feeling away and consentrated on her drink. "Why are you helping me?"

"Because you are unique." Matt said to her as he sighed. "I haven't really had outside contact for a long time. But you are the first to come to the graveyard behind me." he said to her "most others stay away."

"I'm not one to be steered away by roomers," she said simply. People have told her of some strange going's on in this graveyard. She didn't listen. If there was something strange going on, it was nothing she hasn't handled... or so she thought. She didn't expect anyone else to be there, least of all a Necromancer.

"Well, you are a first, people always mutter about something moving in the graveyard that isn't alive, well it most definitly is alive, in one spacific way, it can think" he said thinking about all the Ghouls, "They just can't act for themselves, they are trained specificly for what a Necromancer wants." he said to her as he took a long drink of tea himself.

The thought disterbed her. Karin's mother was a Ghoul. What if she was being controled by him? The thought sent shivers down her spine. "Tell me," she said, what sounded like confidence lining her words. "I'm looking for a Ghoul. It looks a bit like me... or should..." Her voice faultered. It was hard to think of her mother as an 'it', but she had to. Otherwise, burning the body was going to be much harder on her.
