Karin's eyes flitted to Matt's face. "What did you say? I didn't catch that last part." She lied. She cought it, she just didn't want him to think so. She didn't want to have to turn him in, she owed him too much already. Insted, she shook her head as if she didn't hear anything. "So why are you in this business? I don't think raising the dead was a choice on the stupid high school carrear tests."

"I am in this 'business' Because I am one of the few who wanted to be able to control the undead. In more ways than just that though. I helped to create the New Way of necromancy, of controling the undead." he said to her as he looked out the window. "I helped my master create a spell that bound the undead to the bidding of the Spell user making them, how shall I put it, Slaves to our will more or less, they have no souls. just the body and the will to live." he said to her as he sighed

Karin was appauld. She didn't understand why. Maybe it was that they were once human and he was taking controle of them? Or was it that they were the lost relitives of another family? She couldn't quite figure it out. No matter what the reasion, those two thoughts hit a little closer to home than was comfortible. Insted of comming up with a responce, she occupide her mouth with drinking her tea. The tea tasted far more bitter in her mouth.

Matt looked up at the ceiling as he leaned back in his chair. "Well I do beleive that your headache is fading" he said to her in the uncomfortable silence. "I do hope that nothing I have said is offensive to you. But I must go back to my research" he said to her.

She nodded her head. "Then I should leave you to your work then," she said and tried to pull herself up. Both feet stood unballanced on the floor, her legs holding her up being a shear merical. Every muscle in her body ached. Her stuborn nature wouldn't let her slow down though. She tried to walk, a limp forming in her now numb legs.

Matt watched her, "No you need to rest" he said to her, "I know the limits, and you have reached yours" he said

"Well apparently I don't," she said with a sarcastic note in her voice as she watched her own carefull steps. Her body told her the floor was gone, missing. Her eyes and mind knew better. Every step made her want to fall to her knees. 'Where are you going,' it screamed out to her. Home was all she replied with. Nope, her body didn't agree with that notion and her knee gave out on her last step and she fell to the floor, breaking her fall with just the heels of her hands.

Matt sighed, "I told you" he said as he stood and moved over to her, "You might want to rest before you go anywhere." he said as he bent down and helped her back up, "A good nights sleep is just what you need." he said as he guided her towards a small flight of stairs.

Karin didnt fight or argue for or against it. She was sulking a bit over the fact that she fell. The way of a silly teenager. She might be a leagal adult, or at least able to be tried as one, but she was still a teen, and had her moments where she acted as such. Still unable to feel her feet, she watched her steps, making sure she didnt fall again. Every step up the stairs she felt as thought she would fall flat on her face.

Matt guided her towards an empty Guest room on the second floor, "Get some sleep and we will talk when you wake up." he said to her as he opened the door for her, "If you need anything just let me know" he said.

Karin nodded her head and climbed onto the bed. She sank into the pillows, the sheets soft on what skin was free from her clothing. As welcoming as they were, she didn't feel she could bring herself to crawl under them. She was already so comfrotable. The only thing she did to improve the comfort was kick her shoes off onto the floor and pull the sleaves over her scared arms.
